CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The City of Chula Vista is making sure residents are prepared as another round of rain approaches San Diego County.
Residents are invited to grab 10 free sandbags Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Public Works Center on the 1800 block of Maxwell Road. Proof of residency is required.
The city is also reminding drivers about safety on the road. “As a reminder to all drivers, if your wipers are on, your headlights must be on. And please do not attempt to drive through flooded areas,” the city said in a news release.
City officials also warn that sports ball fields will most likely be closed once the rain begins.
Several rounds of rain are due to drench the county on Thursday with another round moving in Saturday through Monday.
