(KGTV) - Texas Rangers pitcher and San Diego native Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi are hoping to make children's dreams come true with their massive donation.

The couple donated a $9.4 million, 32,000-square-foot mansion to Camp Barnabas, a Missouri-based nonprofit that provides camps for children with special needs and chronic illnesses.

According to 6ABC.com, the home includes 10 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, six half-baths and four living areas. The property sits on about 105 acres of land.

The couple began building the home in 2012, but after Hamels was traded to the Rangers in 2015, they decided to live in Texas and put the house up for sale without ever living in it.

The house was eventually pulled off the market and then donated.

Hamels, a star athlete at Rancho Bernardo High School, said: "There are tons of amazing charities in Southwest Missouri. Out of all of these, Barnabas really pulled on our heartstrings. Seeing the faces, hearing the laughter, reading the stories of the kids they serve; there is truly nothing like it. Barnabas makes dreams come true, and we felt called to help them in a big way."

Camp Barnabas Chief Development Officer Krystal Simon said: "This is so much more than a beautiful property. This incredible gift allows us to further our ministry and truly change thousands of lives for years to come.
