More than 240 cities were compared.
Also ranking high in the "best cities for football" list are:

• Green Bay, Wisconsin (most-accessible NFL stadium and most-engaged fans)

For college football, it's Cookeville, Tennessee; Worcester, Massachusetts; Chatanooga, Tennessee; Richmond, Kentucky; Elon, North Carolina and Hanover, New Hampshire. In the NFL it's Cleveland, Ohio; Buffalo, new York; Jacksonville, Florida; Kansas City, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee.
