SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Loyal soccer match scheduled for Saturday night was postponed after an individual on the opposing team tested positive for COVID-19.

The Las Vegas Lights FC sent out the announcement on its Twitter account and stated the individual is isolated at home and showing no symptoms.

"Proceeding with an abundance of caution, the postponement comes after a covered individual scheduled to be involved in tonight's match tested positive for COVID-19, as part of weekly routine testing," the team said.

The match between the USLC - Group B rivals was set for Saturday night at Cashman Field in Las Vegas until it was postponed about three hours before kickoff. The match with Lights FC will be rescheduled at a later date.

The Loyal are scheduled to play Aug. 12 against Orange County SC in San Diego.
