SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - It’s almost time to take in the views and enjoy PGA Golf competition at the 2019 Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego.
This year’s tournament will take place Thursday, Jan. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 27, at the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course (11480 N Torrey Pines Rd.).
The purse for the event is $7.1 million, with the winner taking home $1.278 million. According to PGATour.com, the winner of the event will also receive 500 FedExCup points.
A star-studded field will be gunning for this year’s top prize. Organizers said 24 of the top 50 players in world will be competing during the four-day event.
The notables in this year’s field include Justin Rose, the world’s top-ranked player; seven-time Farmers Insurance Open winner Tiger Woods; defending champion Jason Day; 2017 tournament winner Jon Rahm; first-time Farmers Insurance Open participant Rory McIlroy; and Scripps Ranch High/San Diego State alum Xander Schauffele.
Other players with local ties who will be playing: Torrey Pines High graduates Pat Perez, Jamie Lovemark and Michael Kim; Poway native Charley Hoffman; and SDSU grad J.J. Spaun.
San Diego native Phil Mickelson will not be taking part in this year’s tournament.
TICKETS
Ticket prices for the event range between $45 to $1,200 for the week. Kids 12 and under are free but must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
Active-duty, retired and reserve military members and their dependents are also given free admission with a valid military ID.

EVENT PARKING
After Wednesday, no on-site parking is available. Paid parking is available on specific days, and a shuttle service is also available from SeaWorld and the Del Mar Fairgrounds on certain days. The cost to park ranges from $20 to $25.
