SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A South Bay restaurant is at it again, giving away free tacos because of a Chargers loss.
With the Los Angeles Chargers’ season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, El Pollo Grill’s free “Spanos tacos” promotion is picking up right where it left off.
On Monday, the Bonita location -- owned by Victor Lopez -- will be giving away free tacos of any style to celebrate the Bolts’ loss. The taco giveaway is one per customer and is available from opening to closing.

Customers are urged to say “Spanos tacos” to claim the freebie.
Lopez said the taco giveaway will run throughout the season and he hopes it will end when the regular season ends -- which would mean the Chargers won’t be in the playoffs.
Lopez’s free taco offer gained national attention at the start of last season, and the once life-long Chargers fan said he made up the promotion because he wanted to see the team go winless.
In the first two days of Lopez’s promotion last year, about 400 people accepted a free taco.
