SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Matt Clare's goal with 41 seconds left gave the San Diego Sockers a 6-5 home-opening win over the Syracuse Silver Knights on Sunday.
Clare's game-winner, off an assist from Eddie Velez, sent the Valley View Casino Center crowd of 3,318 fans happy.
The Sockers, now 2-0 on the season, were led by Kraig Chiles' two goals. He leads the team with three on the season.
Goalkeeper Chris Toth had five saves in the win.
The Sockers host the Tacoma Stars in their next game on Nov. 12 at 5:05 p.m.
Besides the game being "PJ/Onesie Night," the first 2,500 fans will receive a free cell phone credit card holder.
