SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. is adding another honor to his growing resume -- video game cover athlete.
Sony Interactive Entertainment on Monday officially announced the 22-year-old will grace the cover of the upcoming game “MLB The Show 21.”
Tatis is the youngest player to ever be picked for the game’s cover, and he is also the first Padre to be featured on the front of the game.
Other past cover athletes include Ken Griffey Jr., Bryce Harper, Aaron Judge, and David Ortiz. The Show first debuted for the Sony PlayStation 2 in 2006.
The game, which is produced in San Diego, will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 starting April 20. It will also be available for the first time for players of Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
