(KGTV) - Bryce Harper, one of the stars who has remained unsigned during the Major League Baseball offseason, is set to meet with the San Diego Padres on Thursday, according to reports.

Ken Rosenthal, senior MLB writer with The Athletic, first reported that the free agent Harper is meeting with the Padres on Thursday or Friday in Las Vegas. In a tweet, Rosenthal said that the meeting is “expected to include ownership representatives.”

In a follow-up tweet, Rosenthal said -- citing a source -- the meeting with Harper is Thursday night.

MLB.com Padres beat writer AJ Cassavell also confirmed that the Padres were meeting with Harper.

Padres officials have not commented on the reports.

Harper, 26, spent the previous seven seasons with the Washington Nationals. He was the 2012 NL Rookie of the Year and 2015 NL MVP as a National.

Many experts believe the six-time All-Star is likely seeking a multi-year deal that includes an annual salary of over $30 million.

The reports regarding the Padres’ meeting with Harper come several days after the team’s reported interest in free agent infielder Manny Machado, another free agent expected to command a $25-million-plus annual salary.
