SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Six Friars are among Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects list for 2020, including three in the top 25.
Among the next generation of MLB talent were Padres prospect pitchers MacKenzie Gore (6), Luis Patino (18), and Andrian Morejon (89); shortstop CJ Abrams (22); outfielder Taylor Trammell (73); and catcher Luis Campusano (79).
San Diego tied for third-most prospects in Baseball America's list alongside the Minnesota Twins. The Los Angeles Dodgers led the MLB with seven prospects listed. The only team without any prospects within the top 100 were the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Padres farm system has continue to receive praise, producing the likes of shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. and pitcher Chris Paddack. Other notable farm system products helped contribute to the 2019 season, including Francisco Mejia, Josh Naylor, Luis Urias, and Ty France.
But despite promoting many of their talented prospects, the Padres still finished in last after a strong first half.
The team's farm system was ranked as the best last season and MLB.com says the team retains "incredible depth beyond their impact talent" of prospects mentioned above.
The 2020 season is expected to show more signs that Padres management's efforts to produce a contending team are heading in the right direction.
