SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego City Council will consider Monday whether to rename a street near Petco Park for Padres legend and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman.

Park Boulevard between Imperial Avenue and Tony Gwynn Drive would be renamed “Trevor Hoffman Way”.

The Downtown Community Planning Council approved the changed last month but the city council will make the final decision.

Hoffman played for the Padres from 1993 to 2008. He is the all-time National League saves leader with 601 saves.
