Rachel Bianco is a veteran of the 10News Team. She joined the station as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor in 2009.
She is passionate about telling stories in San Diego's North County and coastal communities and has extensive experience covering stories impacting North County school districts. She takes pride in covering stories with accuracy, compassion and curiosity.
Rachel loves the adventure of being a reporter. She enjoys meeting new people, learning something new, and, ideally, making a positive impact on her community.
The Pittsburgh native brings a wealth of experience to her role at 10News. She spent five years anchoring and reporting in Detroit and also worked in the same capacity at stations in Northern Michigan, South Texas, and the Mississippi Delta.
Some of her most memorable stories include covering the Santa Barbara wildfires, the Detroit mayoral scandal, the crash of a University of Michigan medical flight team, Hurricane Wilma, and following the Tigers to the World Series.
The Emmy-nominated journalist graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish.
As a long-time resident of San Diego's north county, Rachel is committed to telling the stories that matter in our coastal communities. She is invested in her region and in providing coverage that informs, elevates and inspires.
Rachel lives with her husband, daughter, and two dogs in Solana Beach.
