NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) — One minor is dead after a shooting at a house party. National City police identified the deceased victim as a 12-year-old boy named Elijah Smith.
Four others were injured from gunshot wounds and transported to nearby hospitals. Police say those who were injured are now all in stable condition.
It happened on 1003 N Avenue just before midnight on Friday. Authorities say there were over 100 people at the abandoned house.
Records show that the house has been boarded up for a while and is currently owned by an LLC. Police officials say that there was a noise complaint at the same location last week for a similar house party.
Authorities say the shooting occurred after a physical altercation. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
