SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman was taken to the hospital after she entered state Route 163 lanes with multiple stab wounds.
At around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, witnesses notified the California Highway Patrol of a woman who had stumbled down an embankment and made her way into the southbound SR-163 lanes, near Balboa Park. Several cars swerved to avoid hitting the woman, but no crashes were reported.
San Diego police and CHP officers arrived to investigate, forcing the closure of the southbound offramp from SR-163 to northbound Interstate 5. The I-5 onramp from 11th Ave. was also shut down for several hours due to the investigation.
10News learned the woman was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital with stab wounds. Her condition is unknown.
The circumstances surrounding the woman’s injuries are under investigation.
