Police say a woman was trying to pull into a parking spot in front of the Panda Express on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. when she lost control of her Toyota. She then proceeded to jump the curb and hit and 8-year-old boy standing in front of the restaurant. The car then smashed through the front doors of the business, shattering the glass and bending the door frame.

A Sergeant says the boy had a cut to his leg, but said it was a minor wound. Regardless, paramedics put the child on a stretcher and took him to Rady Children's Hospital to be examined. Police say he is expected to be OK.

The driver wasn't hurt in the collision, but she was shaken by what happened. No one else was hurt. The restaurant was not able to reopen for business but employees remained to sweep up the remaining glass.
