A San Diego-area woman is looking for her puppy that ran away after a car crash in Lemon Grove.

"I just really need to know if something bad happened to him," said Jackie Ames. "I just want my dog back."

Ames is looking for four-month-old Sampson. The boxer pit bull mix disappeared Wednesday morning after his dog sitter was in a crash along the state Route 125.

Sampson was in the car, but wasn't hurt. However, the puppy ran off when a car door was opened after the accident.

"Nobody's going to want that puppy once they get to meet him. He chews on your furniture. He's not all the way potty trained. He has food allergies. His food's so expensive," said Ames.

Adding insult to injury, Sampson also has parvo, a virus that makes him very sick.

"I spent a week on my bedroom floor with him, nursing him back to health," said Ames.

Ames has gathered $500 she said she'd offer as a reward with no questions asked if Sampson is found.
