DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - A woman escaped serious injury after a rollover crash on Interstate 5 in the Del Mar area early Friday morning.
The woman told California Highway Patrol officers that she was traveling on northbound I-5 at about 1 a.m. when she feel asleep at the wheel, causing her Volkswagen to veer into barricades and flip over onto its roof near Del Mar Heights Road.
Another driver stopped to help the woman out of the wreckage, but she said told responding paramedics that she was not injured.
No other injuries were reported.
The off-ramp to Del Mar Heights Road was shut down for almost one hour due to the crash response.
