LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A San Diego woman says her shopping trip at Macy's at the Grossmont Center was interrupted when she found someone recording her while changing inside of her dressing room.

Shelbi Evans was shopping on Thursday afternoon when she noticed a phone pointed towards her dressing room mirror. She says she was shocked and screamed, "excuse me!" and the person recording ran away.

Evans wasn't dressed so she was unable to run after the person taking the video. When she put her clothes on, she ran for help towards two Macy's employees at a register.

The employees told her they hadn't seen anything. Evans says she was shocked to see the employees weren't much help. She says they didn't call for security or take down her name and number.

Evans filed a police report with La Mesa Police Department. They told her they would look at the surveillance footage inside the store.

10News reached out to Macy's and they provided this statement via email:

"Macy’s condemns this type of improper behavior. The safety of our customers and associates is our top priority.

As this is a police matter, we are cooperating fully with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation.

We do not disclose details of our security procedures as it would only impede our efforts. Please contact the police department with any questions."
