EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - Dozens of homeless cats and dogs will fly from Gillespie Field in San Diego County to other states Tuesday, thanks to the charity "Wings of Rescue".

The flight will originate in Phoenix and reach El Cajon by 7 a.m. where it will pick up animals from the Humane Society of Imperial County, said Denise St. Jean of the charity.

The animals will be taken to rescue partners in Oregon and Washington, said St. Jean.

Two pit bulls that have been at the El Centro shelter for an extended period of time will be on the flight.
