LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) -- On March 3, Lemon Grove voters will decide whether or not to impose a new sales tax.
Measure S would amend the Lemon Grove Municipal Code to establish a sales tax increase of three quarters of one cent.
The tax increase wouldn’t apply to food purchases as groceries or prescription medications. It’s also not a property tax, according to the Lemon Grove’s City Attorney.
According to the city, the tax would “be a local tax for general purpose to fund, enhance, and maintain City services.”
The tax is estimated to generate $2,958,000 in revenue.
A “yes” vote for Measure S will establish a Lemon Grove Sales Tax.
A “no” vote against Measure S will not establish such a Tax
