SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A water main break caused flooding at a Mission Valley apartment complex Friday morning, and the repair effort left some residents without water service.
An 8-inch diameter water main broke at the intersection of Fenton Parkway and Rio San Diego Drive, shortly after 3:30 a.m., according to city Public Utilities Department officials.
The gushing water caused some damage to one roadway near the Del Rio Apartments complex grounds.
City crews turned off water just before 4:30 a.m. and immediately began work to fix the broken main. The water shut-off left several residents without water service through 8 a.m., but officials said service is expected to be restored by 12:30 p.m.
A water wagon was brought to the site to provide residents with water for drinking, cooking and other needs.
