A man admitted on camera to a WMAR news crew that he set his own DC-area house on fire.

"Me, me, I set it on fire," the man said. Police and fire crews were behind him at the scene.

The video of the confession has since gone viral:

The man, known only as "Carlos," was on of six people living in the Rockville, Marlyand home. He said he set the fire to alert police to the "deplorable living conditions."

"I just poured gasoline on the floor, set it on fire and went to buy a drink," the man said.

No one was injured.

After speaking with the news crew, the man walked over to two police officers and confessed. He was arrested.
