SAN DIEGO -- An investigation was underway into a shooting late Monday night in the Clairemont Mesa neighborhood that left one man with two bullet wounds to his leg and a second with a laceration to his head.
The two men were shot at as they were sitting in a car in a Circle K parking lot in the 4300 block of Genesee Avenue near Mt. Etna Drive around 11:45 p.m. Monday, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said. The gunfire came from someone in a group of five or six men who pulled up in a white pickup truck and a blue sedan.
One of the victims ran about 50 yards away searching for help. He ran to the door of a Subway sandwich store and begged someone to call 911, police said. Both victims are being treated at a local hospital.
Delimitros said the two victims remained tight-lipped about the shooting, and a motive for the attack has yet to be determined. No names were released.
