A San Diego woman says she and her dog were walking home near Pyramid Lake when they were attacked and nearly mauled by a Pit Bull.
Dawn Fenner says the dog was off lease, and charged her dog.
“All of a sudden, out of the blue, here’s this pit bull, coming at her,” Fenner said. “I had her...on the leash, and the Pit Bull was...trying to get ahold of her.”
Fenner instantly went into defense mode, putting her hands between her dog’s backside and the other dog’s mouth.
“Protection, just the mama bear,” Fenner said. “I was covered in blood, I wasn’t sure if the dog got me.”
Fenner posted her encounter on social media, and other neighbors commented, saying that they had similar encounters with the same dog.
One woman wrote:
“I was also attacked by this dog in late December. It charged from the yard and hit me as I scooped my dog into my arms and kept jumping at me trying to get my dog.”
Fenner hopes her story will protect her neighbors, and potentially spark an investigation into the dog’s owner.
“I’d like that lady to be investigated, to make sure that she understands that she needs to have that dog locked up,” she said.“I want to make sure this doesn’t happen to anybody else.”
