EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - Nearly 200 people took part in a memorial walk for a beloved Valhalla High School cross country and track coach.
The walk took place Friday evening, at the track where Carter Yarborough coached and inspired many student-athletes.

Yarborough died Sunday, when he was riding his motorcycle north on Highway 101 in Encinitas. He crashed into Sheriff's patrol car that was headed south and turned left into his lane, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

"Carter has spent thousands of hours, ran thousands of miles with hundreds if not thousands of students and I thought maybe we could do one more mile in his name, a memorial mile," said Garrett Ince, one of the organizers for the memorial.
