Uninvited guests lead to shooting at Carlsbad house party

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - Two people were shot at a Carlsbad house party after uninvited guests attempted to force their way inside the home Friday.

Carlsbad Police said a 19-year-old man was holding a party in the 900 block of Turnstone Rd. just before 11:30 p.m. when several uninvited guests arrived.

The individuals entered the home but were told to leave, police said.

A short time later, the individuals arrived and attempted to force their way inside the home once again, this time by kicking in the front door.

The 19-year-old told police they armed themselves with a handgun and fired several shots at the individuals and striking two of them, both 18-year-old males. The rest of the group fled, according to police.

The gunshot victims' companions brought the two to separate hospitals. San Diego Sheriff's Department deputies were able to locate the two hospitals they were brought to. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and Carlsbad Police say they are not looking for any other individuals at this time.
