SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Researchers with UC San Diego are sounding the alarm on climate change but say there's still time to act.

Veerabhadran Ramanathan, professor of climate and atmospheric sciences at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, says research indicates extreme events, like heat waves, the collapse of major ice sheets, and mass extinctions are becoming dramatically more probable.

To address the problem, Ramanathan argues we must make deep cuts in emissions and remove carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere.
