An Anaheim mother and her young autistic son were attacked earlier this week by two dogs belonging to a neighbor -- an incident captured on surveillance video.
In the video, Samantha Bishop and her 2-year-old son Grayson are seen walking from their home when two dogs, who somehow escaped from their yard, run up to them.
While playful at first, the dogs suddenly surround the boy, causing him to fall. Bishop quickly grabs him and as they run to their door, the dogs pursue and begin biting her arms.
The video then shows Grayson on the ground with his mom shielding him as the dogs continue to bite. The dogs are then able to get to the boy and begin pulling him by his hair.
Some neighbors respond and help Bishop and her son into the house.
Spenser Bishop said he's grateful that neighbors came to his wife and child's aid.
"I really appreciate them and very thankful they were there. Otherwise my son and my wife might not be here today," Bishop said.
Grayson had numerous stitches put in his leg, and he will need plastic surgery.
Orange County Animal Care officials took the dogs from the owner.
The Bishop family is considering filing a lawsuit.
