Thousands of SDG&E customers lose power in Oceanside-San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) — Thousands of SDG&E customers were without power Tuesday after around the North County.

SDG&E's outage map showed more than 2200 customers in the San Marcos area and another 2700 customers in the Oceanside area without power as of about 1:15 p.m.

Oceanside's outages were recorded at about 11:20 a.m. while the San Marcos outage was recorded at about 12:30 p.m.

Oceanside's outage was restored shortly before 2 p.m. and considered a "momentary outage," or outage lasting less than a minute.

According to SDG&E, the San Marcos was caused by a truck reportedly hitting wires while traveling on Discovery St. at Via Vera Cruz.
