SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Finley Mills, 2, is a healthy and happy girl, but times were tough when she was born.
“She stopped growing at 20 weeks,” said Finley’s mom, Laura Mills.
She said doctors couldn’t tell her why, and for four-and-a-half months, Finley was in the NICU.
“Just to see your kid go through that struggle for their first couple months of life is very challenging,” said Mills.
On Saturday, the Mills family joined thousands of people who attended the March of Dimes event, March for Babies, in Balboa Park. The event is hoping to raise $500,000.
The goal is to fund research and programs to end premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality.
“She’s our true miracle, so we walk to support babies who are born prematurely, and families that go through that emotional hardship,” said Mills.
