Thieves stealing laser lights

Posted

Thieves are targeting the hot new trend in outdoor holiday decorations in Chula Vista, striking a handful of home overnight Monday morning, neighbors said.

“I purchased the laser lights about three to four days ago… and they would just light up the house,” Mirele Gugger said.

“My mom came and said someone stole our lights, and I was like, oh man,” her eight-year-old son, Max Gugger, said.

The laser lights cost about $50.

“Then, I was surprised because I went to check with my neighbors and I wasn’t the only one. There was about seven to 10 houses that got their laser lights stolen as well. These people were clearly just targeting the laser lights,” Mirele Gugger said.

The Guggers are done with laser lights for good.

“It was for my kids and they are all upset I don’t want to go though this again,” Mirele Gugger said.
