SAN DIEGO -- Police are searching for a thief who broke into a Carson Elementary School in Linda Vista and stole computers early Wednesday morning.
Sometime before 3:30 a.m., San Diego Unified School District Police saw the break-in on surveillance video and contacted San Diego police. Several officers responded, but were unable to locate the suspect.
Police say the man forced open a classroom door, broke open a cabinet and stole several computers inside. Police found a crowbar and some woodchips on the ground. They found some keyboards scattered across the classroom.
Several officers and police K-9 were searching the school. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.
Classes were not expected to be delayed.
