SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A North County doctor was arrested this week on suspicion of his wife's murder, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The charges come more than two years after his wife's death. Dr. Eric Scott Sills, 53, was arrested April 25 by homicide investigators.
Deputies were called to a home in San Clemente in the early morning hours of November 13, 2016, according to investigators. Dr. Sills told deputies he found his wife, Susann Sills, dead at the bottom of the stairs after an apparent fall. In November 2017, the coroner determined the death was a homicide.
In April 2019, an arrest warrant was issued for Dr. Sills and he was taken into custody on his way to work.
Dr. Sills is listed as the medical director for the Center of Advanced Genetics, a fertility clinic on Carmel Mountain Road. His wife was a co-founder. According to the biography on the clinic's website, he has been in full-time IVF practice since 1998.
He posted a $1 million bail on April 29 and is scheduled to be arraigned May 23.
