SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A new entertainment complex is coming to the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter in just a few months.

Construction workers are putting the finishing touches on Theatre Box on the corner of 5th Street and G Street in downtown.

The complex is set to include TCL Chinese Theaters' first luxury dine-in cinema, a Sugar Factory and a sports bar and arcade owned by Nick Cannon.

The theater is owned by the same owners of the historic Chinese Theater in Hollywood, known for its star-studded movie premieres and for featuring the hand and footprints of dozens of celebrities.

The complex will feature eight screens and reclining seats. You can even order items from the Sugar Factory to your seats with the push of a button.

Businesses nearby say they are excited to have such an iconic theater move into downtown. They hope the theater also increases foot traffic for their establishments.

The theater is set to open by the end of October or early November of this year. The complex is 73,000-square feet and a second phase of the project will include a rooftop beer garden.
