SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An out-of-control SUV barreled backwards into two North Park homes Monday morning, but no injuries were reported.
The incident happened on Mississippi Street, near Lincoln Avenue, just after 4 a.m.
A man told 10News he was backing his Ford Excursion out from his house when he said his foot became stuck under the gas pedal, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.
The SUV sped down the street in reverse and then crashed into the front of two homes, leaving behind a mangled mess of metal and wood.
"We basically woke up to a bang, and at first, we thought it was an earthquake. We walked out to the front yard and sure enough, there's a truck in there and the engine is still revving," a resident, who just bought the home, told 10News.
Police said the driver was not impaired at the time and called the situation an accident.
