A series of three storms will likely bring scattered showers, heavy at times in certain areas in the county, starting Sunday night and lasting through Friday, the National Weather Service said.
"We expect to have as much as a total of 1.5 inches of rain in some areas by Wednesday, with the heaviest rains Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday," according to the NWS forecaster Brett Albright.
The first storm system was likely to arrive Sunday night, with its heaviest rains coming Monday morning, Albright said.
"The surf will pick up Sunday and will be elevated all week with the biggest swells likely Thursday and Friday," Albright said.
Cloud cover countywide will remain constant throughout the week. Temperatures will remain cool, estimating highs in the mid-50's to the low 60's along the coast and inland valleys, near freezing at night and in the 40's in the mountains during the day, and in the 60's in the deserts most of the week.
"We expect 1.5 to 3 inches of rain in most areas by the end of the week," Albright said.
Snow is not likely with this series of storms, except perhaps in the highest locations in the mountains, according to the NWS.
