SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Singer-songwriter Alessa Cara joined Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson this week in sending condolences to the family of the 12-year-old girl and her mother killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 805.
Answering a Twitter message from Angelo Pizarro, whose sister, Aryana, and mother, Aileen, were killed in the I-805 crash, Cara told him to check for a private message.

The original tweet from Angelo asked users to help gain attention for a message from Cara to his sister after Johnson had done the same for his mother last week.

The mother and daughter died on Aug. 23 after a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound I-805 HOV lane crashed head-on.
Angelo has set up a GoFundMe page to support the family, that has since raised more than $60,000. The family plans to use the money for funeral expenses, to pay off the mother's remaining expenses, and health costs for her sons' asthma.
