SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are trying to determine if two shootings at two separate Mountain View bus stops over the weekend are connected.
On Sunday, at around 9 p.m., San Diego police responded to reports of a man shot at a bus stop at the corner of 40th Street and National Avenue.
Police said the victim was at the stop to see his girlfriend off when an unknown man got out of a blue car and shot him in the lower back. The victim is expected to survive from his injuries.
Police said the blue car drove away eastbound in the 4100 block of National Avenue. The suspected shooter was described as a black man wearing a blue and gray hoodie and believed to be 22-25 years old.
The incident came after a 49-year-old man was shot early Saturday morning at a bus stop about a half-mile away from where the Sunday shooting took place.
On Saturday, at about 3:30 a.m., the victim was shot at the stop on Logan Avenue.
Police said they are searching for a black sedan, possibly a 1987 Nissan Maxima, in connection with that shooting.
Anyone with information about either of the shootings is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
