SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego Police officer is getting a lifesaving gift from his brother in blue.
Art Calvert, a 25-year police veteran, has been up against kidney disease since his rookie year. Over the past two decades, he's had successful transplants from his mom and sister but has been in need of a third transplant for four years now.
A plan to get Calvert a kidney in January was derailed by a medical complication.
Six months later an unexpected donor stepped up.
