SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - As images of devastated neighborhoods emerge while the Lilac Fire burns through North County, stories of hope have followed Friday.

San Diego Sheriff's Department (SDSO) tweeted that deputies found a box of kittens in an area where the Lilac Fire scorched through Bonsall.

"[Deputies] patrolling burned areas of Bonsall found a box of kittens and turned them over to County Animal Services for some TLC. Awww. Stay well little kitty," SDSO tweeted.

The kittens were turned over to San Diego County Animal Services, where they will likely be treated for any injuries and given care.
