SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are looking for whoever aimed a laser and opened fire at a man who was sitting at a Lincoln Park-area trolley station early Monday morning.

San Diego police said they received a report of shots fired at the 47th Street Trolley Station, east of Interstate 805, just before 1 a.m.

According to police, a 32-year-old man told officers that he was sitting on a platform at the station when he noticed a laser dot on his body. When he looked up, he said he saw “sparks” coming from the area of the 400 block of 47th Street.

The man ran from the station to the 200 block of 47th Street, where a homeowner reported seeing the man in her yard.

Police said the man was not hit by gunfire or injured.

Officers scouring the area in search of a shooter found three shell casings in the 400 block of 47th Street “and one projectile along with the victim’s personal items on the trolley platform.”

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call San Diego police at 619-531-2000.
