SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County approved a $42 million road resurfacing package Wednesday, with work on road surfaces set to begin next year.
A six-page document of roadways in the county's unincorporated areas was unanimously approved by the Board of Supervisors. The list of roads can be seen here.
The roads run through numerous communities including Alpine, Bonsall, Boulevard, Crest, Fallbrook, Jamul, Julian, Lakeside, Lincoln Acres, Pine Valley, Ramona, and Spring Valley.

Of the 195 miles of roadway included on the list, about 115 miles will undergo asphalt overlays, and 80 miles will get slurry seal treatments, according to the county. The resurfacing is designed to create smoother rides for motorists and last longer between road work.
The $42 million resurfacing project will draw about $13 million in funding from California's new gas tax, the Road Repair and Accountability Act, that was signed into law last April as well as more funding from county sources.
Wednesday's approval allows the County Department of Public Works to start soliciting bids from companies to complete the road work, expected to begin Spring 2018 and finished by the end of the year.

The project is part of San Diego's five-year plan to improve roadway surfaces in unincorporated areas of the county.
