SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego City Council voted Monday night to eliminate the fees to build so-called granny flats.”

The granny flats are small homes built on someone’s property or little apartments made in a garage or basement.

Some people say building more of the small living spaces could help ease San Diego’s housing crisis.
