(KGTV) -- A San Diego driver led California Highway Patrol officers on a high speed chase from Santee to Los Angeles County Tuesday night.
The chase started around 7:24 p.m. when CHP officers attempted to pull over a driver in a Nissan Rogue for speeding.
The driver took off on CA-52 and headed to CA-12, according to CHP. Officers initially reported that the chase started in El Cajon.
As of 10 p.m. the chase was ongoing in the northeastern San Fernando Valley, still heading north on I-5 at speeds around 65-70, according to our ABC affiliate in LA.
Around 10:18 p.m. the driver stopped on I-5 in the Santa Clarita area but remained in the vehicle. Soon after officers swarmed the vehicle and took the driver into custody.
