SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A dog owner is asking for tips after a loose pit bull attacked her Terrier mix outside Big Rock Park in Santee.
Around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, Lonny Vang says she and her two dogs, including 3-year-old Charlee Daniel, were on the street headed toward the park when she saw a woman on a bike, a reddish brown Pit Bull tied up and running alongside. Vang says, Charlee Daniel was off leash.
Moments later, Vang says the Pit Bull somehow got loose and charged her dog, chasing Charlee Daniel in circles before clamping down on her back.
For an eternal three to four minutes, the Pit Bull owner and a witness tried to peel the Pit Bull off of the Charlee Daniel. Eventually, it let go. But, an emotional Vang took off to the vet without getting the Pit Bull owner’s information.
Charlee Daniel suffered four deep bite marks on her back and needed surgery, but she is recovering. The vet bill is more than $1,000 and growing.
Now she’s going public with a plea.
“I’m hoping the owner steps up and take responsibility,” said Vang.
