SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A rideshare passenger was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after the car he was riding in was struck by another car that then sped away.
The collision happened at around 1:45 a.m. on Voltaire Street, at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, in Ocean Beach.
San Diego police said the Lyft car was T-boned by a Volvo station wagon at the intersection, causing the car to rollover and come to rest on its roof near a Shell gas station.
After the Volvo drove away, several witnesses helped two passengers and the driver out of the overturned Lyft.
One passenger was transported to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity. The driver and the other passenger were not injured.
A license plate believed to be the Volvo’s was found at the crash scene.
