Revitalization effort underway in neighborhood near San Diego State University

Posted
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The next new thing: that's what some people want the College Area to become.

The College Area Business District held a meeting Tuesday binging together business owners and potential investors to discuss opportunities for development.

The District's Executive Director, Jim Schneider, helped revitalize other parts of the city, including Adams Avenue in Normal Heights, and believes the neighborhood is on the verge of a big change.

There have already been several new apartment buildings and business added, as well as improvements to the sidewalks and medians.

Schneider says the goal is to make streets like El Cajon more walk-able and able to retain the young professionals already living in the area connected to the San Diego State University.
