VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Volunteers of a Seattle church discovered the skeletal remains of a young Vista musician, who went missing in Seattle in 2005, while they were clearing out brush behind the church Tuesday.
Brian Barton, 25, vanished 12 years ago from his Seattle home that he shared with his girlfriend and bandmate.
Brian Barton left Vista at age 21 to go to Seattle to pursue his dream as a punk rock musician. In early 2005, Brian Barton suddenly quit his band.
Friends said he was acting odd. Then, he was gone.
His mother said they do not, and likely will never, know how he died, and she is accepting that.
“I am because there's only skeletal remains and I'm just going to have to give that up, because, you know, I want him to be laid to rest and I need a little rest myself, so I'm not even going to worry about it,” Maureen Barton said.
Brian Barton will be buried in Vista. Friends set up a Gofundme.com site to help Brian Barton’s family. If you would like to donate, click here.
