SAN DIEGO -- One man was behind bars and another was sought by police for allegedly robbing a marijuana dispensary employee in the Southcrest neighborhood Thursday night.
The 29-year-old victim headed to the vicinity of South 41st Street and Boston Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday with the intention of selling marijuana to another man. He was instead confronted by a gun-wielding man and a second suspect who jumped into his car and began rummaging around, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.
The gunman demanded the victim hand over the pot along with his money and car keys, Heims said.
However, the suspects got spooked as a police cruiser headed their way, Heims said. The gunman dropped his weapon into the victim's car and both ran off.
The victim flagged down the police car and one suspect was arrested a short time later, Heims said.
The second man escaped. Police described him as black, 20 to 25 years old, roughly 5-foot-10 and dressed in dark clothing.
