What’s happening in the political world:
Trump heads to Dallas to speak at NRA convention
-- For the fourth time in as many years, President Trump will make an appearance at the National Rifle Association’s annual convention.
The president’s address at the Dallas convention will come nearly three months after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, that claimed the lives of 17 people and reignited the nation’s gun control debate.
Weeks after the school shooting, Trump suggested he was looking to make changes to the nation’s gun laws. He supported the idea of raising the minimum gun-buying age to 21 and was open to expanded background checks -- suggestions that NRA officials have not been on board with in the past.
However, the president later backed down from his stance.
The NRA donated $30 million to Trump’s presidential campaign, according to reports.
Trump speaks on possible Mueller meeting, new adviser Giuliani
-- President Trump told reporters at the White House Friday that he “would love to go” speak to Special Counsel Robert Mueller but wants reassurance that he would be treated fairly.
When asked about potentially interviewing with Mueller regarding the ongoing Russia investigation, Trump said that he was open to a meeting as long as “we’re going to be treated fairly because everybody sees it now and it’s a pure witch hunt.”
Trump also addressed the comments made in recent days by the newest member of his legal team, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Trump said of Giuliani: “He's learning the subject matter. He's going to be issuing a statement, too. He started yesterday. He'll get his facts straight.”
After referring to Giuliani as a “special guy,” Trump added, “When Rudy made the statements -- Rudy is great -- but Rudy had just started, and he wasn't totally familiar with everything … We love Rudy, a special guy, he really understands that this is a witch hunt. He understands that probably better than anybody.”
Trump: Meeting with North Korea set
-- President Trump told the media that a time and place was agreed up on for his historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Trump said, “We now have a date and we have a location. We’ll be announcing it soon.”
Earlier this week, Trump said a meeting at Korea’s demilitarized zone was a possibility.
Trump's morning tweets
-- The president took to Twitter Friday morning to address several topics, including immigration and U.S. unemployment rates.
Our Southern Border is under siege. Congress must act now to change our weak and ineffective immigration laws. Must build a Wall. Mexico, which has a massive crime problem, is doing little to help!

Because Jobs in the U.S. are doing so well, Americans receiving unemployment aid is the lowest since 1973. Great!

NBC NEWS is wrong again! They cite “sources” which are constantly wrong. Problem is, like so many others, the sources probably don’t exist, they are fabricated, fiction! NBC, my former home with the Apprentice, is now as bad as Fake News CNN. Sad!

JUST OUT: 3.9% Unemployment. 4% is Broken! In the meantime, WITCH HUNT!
